Carl Leopold Voss

Carl Leopold Voss (1856–1921) was a German painter and illustrator who primarily worked in Munich. Born as the son of the sculptor Karl Voss, he spent his early years in Rome, where he lived from 1856 to 1877. After moving to Munich from 1877 to 1886, he returned to Rome for a few years (1886–1888). Following this, he lived and worked in Munich again until his death in 1921. Additionally, he spent some time in the Netherlands from 1890 to 1910 and frequently traveled to Italy. Voss was active as a painter in various genres, particularly as a genre painter and history painter.
