Franz Burger (May 30, 1857, Windisch-Matrei – July 27, 1940, Innsbruck) was a multifaceted Austrian artist. He was a painter, draftsman, illustrator, restorer, poster designer, and, from 1897, a professor at the Staatsgewerbeschule in Innsbruck.

After completing his basic education, Burger attended the Staatsgewerbeschule in Innsbruck. From 1880 to 1892, he undertook study and artistic travels, training under renowned teachers such as Ludwig von Lindenschmidt, Karl Raupp, and Franz von Defregger. From 1897 until his retirement in 1925, he taught at the Staatsgewerbeschule in Innsbruck.

Between 1905 and 1909, he created the monumental battle painting Speckbacher Captures the Sill Bridge on August 13, 1809, commissioned by Archduke Franz Ferdinand for display in the Neue Hofburg in Vienna.
