Heinrich Justus König
Heinrich Justus König, also known as Koenig (* 1862 in Elberfeld; † 1936 in Düsseldorf), was a German historical, animal, and landscape painter of the Düsseldorf school. König studied in the elementary class of the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Heinrich Lauenstein during the academic year 1881/1882. From 1884 to 1888, he was a private student of Albert Baur the Elder. He worked in Paris from 1891 to 1894 before returning to Düsseldorf, where he was a member of the artist association Malkasten.
