Johann Heinrich Beck
Johann Heinrich Beck was born on December 18, 1788 in Dessau and died on March 6, 1875. He was a German portrait and court painter who completed his training as a pupil of Ferdinand Hartmann. He began working as a court painter and curator in Dessau in 1818.
Beck copied numerous paintings by old masters for the palaces in the Dessau area. He also created a three-part altarpiece for the Nikolaikirche in Zerbst.
