Lothar Howald

Lothar Howald was born on March 7, 1915, in Nuremberg and passed away on August 22, 1978, in Berlin. He was a German painter. There is little information available about his biography. He studied at the art academies in Munich and Berlin, working as a freelance artist, interrupted by his participation in World War II.

In East Germany, Howald was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR. He lived in Berlin and, in 1953, exhibited his oil painting Baustelle Weberwiese (21.5 × 26.7 cm) at the Third German Art Exhibition in Dresden.
