Serge Helias
Serge Hélias was a painter and professor at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1973, he settled in Clermont-Ferrand, where he became a key figure in the city’s cultural life.
He served as a curator for contemporary art exhibitions and was the director of the École des Beaux-Arts in Clermont-Ferrand, a position he held until 1992. Many of his students and followers benefited from his kind authority and profound vision.
One of his guiding principles was:
“To create is to reinvent life every day.”
