Ulrich Thul

Ulrich Thul, born in 1959 in Schweich near Trier, the artist currently lives and works in Mannheim and Ludwigshafen. Since 1975, he has been intensively engaged in artistic practice, studies, and experimentation and has regularly exhibited his works since 1978. He initially studied social work at the University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen/Rhein from 1979 to 1982, followed by a study in education at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1987 to 1993. In parallel, between 1990 and 1993, he studied at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Trier, where he was taught by renowned artists such as Harald Fuchs from Cologne, Simon Kramer from Amsterdam, and Ulf Rungenhagen from Düsseldorf. Since 1997, he has been a member of the German-Russian artist group “Quattrologe.”
