August Bloch

August Bloch (born July 29, 1876, in Dortmund; died 1949 in Münstereifel, Euskirchen district) was a German painter specializing in landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, associated with the Düsseldorf School. Bloch received his artistic training with Ludwig Mansz in Cologne and as a private student of Fritz Neuhaus and Ludwig Heupel-Siegen in Düsseldorf. He eventually settled in Cologne and Münstereifel, earning a reputation as the “Eifel painter.”
