Giuseppe Siccardi

Giuseppe Siccardi (1937-2010) Italian artist known for his surrealism and futurism.

Giuseppe Siccardi, born in Turin in 1937, started out as a commercial artist and was also responsible for the graphic design and advertising image of the very famous hazelnut and love-themed chocolate biscuits. He then moved to Padua. Giuseppe Siccardi has always made a living from his art: a figurative and surreal landscape painter with a meticulous, almost Flemish style that is well known and appreciated throughout the country. He has curated exhibitions and exhibited throughout Italy and has received numerous prizes and awards. One of his greatest works is the depiction of St. Anthony dying, which can be seen above the main portal of the Sanctuary of St. Anthony at Arcella in Padua. He died in 2010 after a long and very rare illness.
