Gustav Barbarini

Gustav Barbarini, born on June 17, 1840 in Vienna and died on May 16, 1909 in Hinterbrühl near Mödling, found his final resting place in the Hinterbrühl cemetery. He was an Austrian landscape painter and the son of the renowned artist Franz Barbarini.

Barbarini received his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied in 1857. His works were regularly presented at exhibitions organized by the Österreichischer Kunstverein, and he actively participated in these exhibitions from 1887 onwards. He found his motifs mainly in the Vienna Woods and the Austrian mountains, which he captured in his paintings.

After his death, Gustav Barbarini’s estate was auctioned off at the renowned Dorotheum auction house in 1911. His artistic legacy and contributions to landscape painting have immortalized his name in the Austrian art world, and his works continue to be appreciated for their beauty and depiction of nature.
