Patricius Kittner

Patricius Kittner was born in Brno on March 16, 1809 and received his artistic training under the Minorite Leopold Korompay. During his employment at the governor’s office in Brno, Kittner began creating miniature portraits. In 1869, he decided to devote himself entirely to art and moved to Nikolsburg, where he devoted himself exclusively to his artistic work from then on.

Kittner remained in Nikolsburg until 1877 before moving to Vienna. In addition to miniature portraits, he also produced pencil drawings, watercolors and large-format oil paintings.

Patricius Kittner died in Hirtenberg on June 18, 1900. His works, which are known for their attention to detail and technical sophistication, left a lasting impression on the 19th century art scene.
