Paul GÖTZ-RÄCKNITZ

Paul Götz-Räcknitz (1873-1952), was a renowned German artist who was active in the fields of painting, illustration, lithography and education, was born in Dresden-Räcknitz in 1873 and died in Munich in 1952. He began his artistic training at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts between 1895 and 1897. He then continued his studies at the private school M. Weinhold in Munich. In 1904, he began his studies at the Munich Academy under the guidance of Ludwig von Herterich. Götz undertook extensive study trips, including to Italy and Tyrol, in order to expand his artistic expertise.
Paul Götz was also a member of the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands and the Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft. His artistic work took place mainly in Munich, where he played an important role in the art scene of his time.
