Peter Würth

Peter Würth, born on August 31, 1873 in Würzburg and died on April 10, 1945 in Veitshöchheim, was a versatile artist as a painter, draughtsman, graphic artist and ex-libris artist. He learned the craft of lithography from Franz Scheiner in Würzburg and developed his skills as a painter on a self-taught basis.
His works mainly focused on landscapes, cityscapes and religious motifs. Some of his works are part of the collections of the City of Würzburg and the Mainfränkisches Museum in Würzburg. In 1995, to mark the 50th anniversary of his death, an exhibition entitled “Peter Würth (1873 – 1945) – a Veitshöchheim painter” was organized at the Jewish Cultural Museum in Veitshöchheim.
