Wilhelm Klein

Wilhelm Klein (1821-1897) was a German painter. He was born in Düsseldorf, studied at the Düsseldorf Academy and was a master student of Wilhelm Schadow. Wilhelm Klein undertook study trips through Germany, Tyrol, Belgium, the Netherlands, northern Italy and Switzerland. One art exhibition for which Klein was responsible was the Berlin Academy Exhibition of 1838. He was a co-founder and member of the Düsseldorf Artists’ Association. He is known for his landscapes and portraits.
