It moved away from the depiction of recognisable objects and instead focused on the use of colours, shapes and lines to express feelings and ideas.

Origins and pioneers:
Abstract art developed in response to rapid changes in technology, culture and philosophy. Artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian and Kazimir Malevich are regarded as pioneers of this movement. Their works radically broke with traditional art by rejecting the need to depict the external world and focussing instead on the inner world of emotions and thoughts.

Abstract art is not monolithic, but encompasses various styles and movements. For example, expressionism is characterised by the intense use of colour and dynamic forms, while constructivism is characterised by geometric abstraction and a focus on material and structure.

The influence of abstract art extends far beyond the visual arts. It has influenced design, architecture and even photography and remains a key source of inspiration and experimentation for contemporary artists.

Abstract art, which emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, represents a major turning point in the history of […]

[15100

post-156995","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-unkategorisiert-en
["GET
