{"id":14509,"count":0,"description":"Arthur Lewin, also known as Arthur Lewien (* May 4, 1860 in Sch\u00f6nbrunn near Troppau; \u2020 June 7, 1923 in Leipzig), was a costume designer and illustrator.\n\nIn 1874, Lewin moved to Leipzig, where he worked as a costume designer at the city theater from 1887 to 1906. In addition to his theater work, he created pictures for various magazines, including Neuer Deutscher Jugendfreund, and illustrated several books.\n\nParticularly noteworthy are his two line etchings for the story Bei den Auss\u00e4tzigen and three for Merhameh.
