He began his artistic training at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts between 1895 and 1897. He then continued his studies at the private school M. Weinhold in Munich. In 1904, he began his studies at the Munich Academy under the guidance of Ludwig von Herterich. G\u00f6tz undertook extensive study trips, including to Italy and Tyrol, in order to expand his artistic expertise.\nPaul G\u00f6tz was also a member of the Reichsverband Bildender K\u00fcnstler Deutschlands and the M\u00fcnchner K\u00fcnstlergenossenschaft.
